Barbara A. Anderson, DrPH, CNM, FACNM, FAAN Receives NLN Adelaide Nutting Award

Congratulations to Barbara A. Anderson, DrPH, CNM, FACNM, FAAN, Professor Emerita, Frontier Nursing University for receiving the NLN Adelaide Nutting Award for Outstanding Teaching/Leadership in Nursing. On September 28, 2019 in Washington, D.C., Dr. Anderson was recognized for her leadership in midwifery and nursing education, support and mentorship of students and junior faculty, and numerous scholarly works.

Anderson has a long career in nurse-midwifery, nursing, public health, midwifery and nursing education at all levels, program planning, curriculum development, academic administration, global consultation, and field work. She was the lead editor of Best practices in Midwifery: Using the Evidence to Implement Change (2013, 2017), lead editor of DNP Capstone Projects: Exemplars of Excellence in Practice (2015), co-editor of editions 2 through 5 of Caring for the Vulnerable: Perspectives in Nursing Theory, Research, and Practice (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and lead editor of The Maternal Health Crisis in America: Nursing Implications for Advocacy and Practice (2019). She is a referee for the International Journal of Childbirth and Social Science & Medicine and the 2018 winner of the media award by the American Association of Birth Centers.
