Congratulations to the August graduates! We wish you all well as you prepare for boards, conduct job searches, and begin working as midwives. We hope that you continue to engage with ACNM as new midwives, and we welcome feedback on ways in which ACNM can be helpful to you as you transition into this new role.
Over the past few months, I have been working to prepare a response to the 2019 Student Report that was presented at the ACNM Annual Meeting in Washington, DC in May. I met with program directors at their October DOME meeting to continue the discussion about increasing the number of preceptors, and was reassured that this is as much on their minds as it is on ours as students!
We also discussed creating a resource list that explores the diverse history of midwifery that would be posted on the ACNM website and available to students in all midwifery programs. I am working on building this resource list, and hope that it will continue to grow and change with input from many different midwives. Once the list is live and ready to view, I encourage you to reach out and let me know if there are any other resources we should include!
